This shot has been on my hard drive for three and a half years. It’s one of many, many hover fly shots that I took that summer. Although it’s one that I kept while most were discarded, I’ve never come back to it, but while sorting through a few days ago realised that with a simple crop it’s quite a pleasing shot.

It’s getting to the point where I need to be more selective about which shots I keep and which I get rid of, there are too many on my hard drive these days, but it’s nice to flick through and find a hidden gem.

Details: Canon EOS 1200D, aperture priority mode, f11, 1/200 sec, ISO-320, Canon 18-55mm lens, focal length 55mm, 25 July 2015.
